What Ifs! If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Welcome to a new series here at Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights called What Ifs! One great discussion involved whentalking about superheroes is the big “what if” question. So I decided to take the question out to you readers and find out what your thoughts are. This week’s question is “If you could have any superpower, what would it be?” Would you go with super strength? Flight? Regeneration? The ability to shoot lasers out of your fingertips?
Personally, I’ve always been fascinated by the ability to shapeshift since I was young. On the X-Men cartoon, my favorite character was the short lived Morph, as well as Mystique. I also loved reading about werewolves since there wasn’t really that much available to watch at my age. It was also a bit of a nerd so I had to take it to the next level and figure out exactly what the ability to shapeshift would entail. The amount of knowledge of physiology to become different animals and people would be pretty staggering. So let me know what you would choose by leaving a comments. Haha, I tend to forget that CoH players follow this blog on occasion. Never got a chance to try water or Staff fighting, but Trick Arrow was one of my favorites, had 3 TA 50s including my first – a Bot/Trick Arrow Mastermind. Great stuff, thanks for commenting.
I am also a fan of shapeshifting, as one might guess, especially if you get all of the powers of the assumed shape, but even if you don’t. At the very least, I’d like something somewhere between Mystique and Mister Fantastic. Or Husk, for those Marvel fans who know of that character.
Nice, I’ve heard of Husk in passing. I believe he (she?) was in Generation X? The name sounds familiar as one of the mutants they didn’t use in the Generation X pilot movie, and instead used Skin. I could never really get into Mister Fantastic, I think it’s probably just because I never watched anything where they used his abilities to any sort of interesting way.
Great idea for a series.
I tend to go intellectual on these things, so either mind control like Professor Xavier, or possibly the ability to time travel (presuming that I could actually change things in the past/future).
I’m also a fan of Rogue’s ability to borrow superpowers as needed, but only if I was able to control it….
Time travel would be a fun one. The only problem with Rogue’s power is that it only works in a world of other superheroes, while most of the time the “what if” question is if you could have any power in your current life in the regular world. She’s kind of like a power shapeshifter so I dig her too though.
I want to be impervious to harm like Bruce Willis’ character in Unbreakable. Well except for water of course lol
