Filmwhys #28 Titanic and Dick Tracy
Apologies for the recent semi-expected hiatus while I was busy moving, but I’m back and I’ve got a doozy for you. Returning guest Jay Cluitt from Life vs. Film asks me why I haven’t seen Titanic, the second highest grossing film of all time! (PS, the only other film in the top 20 of all time that I haven’t seen is Catching Fire) It made well over a billion dollars, it was in theaters for over a year, and yet somehow I hadn’t seen this film until now. And in return, I ask him why he hasn’t seen Dick Tracy, the four color detective comic strip come to life via Warren Beatty and plenty of other recognizable character actors even though most of them are buried in heavy prosthesis in order to play the colorful villains in a brightly colored anti-noir movie that brings the comic strip to life.

Filmwhys Raw #6 Play Ball!
Episode 6 of Filmwhys Raw where my guests are John LaRue from The Droid You’re Looking For and Todd Leibenow from Forgotten Films, and this was my chance to participate in Todd’s blogathon going on right now, the Big League Blogathon and since it was difficult to fit a baseball movie into the focus of my superhero site, I decided that we would spend this podcast talking about any and all things related to baseball in the movies.

Filmwhys #27 The Simpsons and Jack of All Trades
Welcome to another episode of Filmwhys, also known as the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where things didn’t go quite as planned with my scheduling but I was glad to put this show up earlier than planned where my guest is Nick Jobe from Your Face! who asks me why I haven’t seen Jack of All Trades, a short lived comedy with groovy Bruce Campbell as a revolutionary spy/hero and in return I ask him the question that has been burning in my head ever since I found out that he had never seen the Simpsons, my all time favorite television show where I have seen nearly every episode, and all the classics dozens of times and often bring up episodes which have made me familiar with several of the movies I’ve seen on this podcast for the first time.

Filmwhys #26 District 9 & Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
Welcome back to another episode of Filmwhys, episode 26 of the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Shala Thomas from Life Between Films who asks me why I haven’t seen District 9, the surprising sci-fi debut of Neill Blomkamp about an alien spaceship stranded above Johannesburg where the aliens get placed in a slum on the outskirts of the city and eventually become a hotbed of racial tension and xenophobia. And in return, I ask her why she hasn’t seen Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, the Joss Whedon experiment in web content during the writer’s strike from several years ago about the rise of a super-villain done as a catchy musical.

Graphic Horror: Filmwhys Raw #5
Welcome to another episode of Filmwhys Raw where my guests are Jay Cluitt from Life vs. Film and Matt Stewart from Simplistic Reviews and we bring my blogathon into podcast territory and talk about some horror movies that we all think would make great graphic novels, including one or two that I might end up adding to my own list of movies to watch & review this month so keep an eye out for that as well. Click here to listen and as always I appreciate it if you subscribe on iTunes, PodOmatic, or Stitcher and give me a rate, review, and/or feedback. I always enjoy hearing what the listeners have to say. Until next time, this has been Bubbawheat for Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights.
Filmwhys #25 Napoleon Dynamite and Defendor
Episode 25 of the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast with guest Simon Connolly, writer and director of the upcoming independent film The Last Superheroes and short film writer/director. You can see his short films and a couple previews for The Last Superheroes on Vimeo. He asks me why I haven’t seen a low budget independent film that went on to great success called Napoleon Dynamite about the life of an odd teenager in a small town seemingly stuck in the 80’s and his odd friends and family. And in return, I ask him why he hasn’t seen Defendor, a low budget superhero movie starring Woody Harrelson as a mentally handicapped person who believes he is a superhero like Batman, but stumbles on an actual crime ring that he is determined to take down by himself.

Welcome to another episode of Filmwhys Raw, this time around I was able to talk with a couple filmmakers responsible for the superhero movie The Bad Samaritan Must Die which I reviewed recently. Filmwhys #24 Saving Private Ryan and Constantine
I’m still truckin’ with these podcasts and still havin’ a lot of fun with them. This time around on the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast my guest is Ryan McNeil from The Matinee who asks me why I haven’t seen Saving Private Ryan, Steven Spielburg’s epic World War II movie about a group of soldiers trekking across war-torn Europe to find a single soldier and bring him home. And in return, I ask him why he hasn’t seen Constantine, with Keanu Reeves playing John Constantine who has the ability to see angels and demons who are all around us and is stuck on Earth fighting the demons to try and win his way back into Heaven when his life runs out.

Filmwhys Raw #3
Welcome to another episode of Filmwhys Raw, the show between regular episodes of Filmwhys where I talk to a guest or two about a movie related topic for a little while. This time around there were some technical difficulties and I lost one of the participants and had to edit around it. The guest I lost was Pat McDonnell from 100 Years of Movies, but I was able to save my discussion with Matt Kubinski from CinemaJaw where we talked about graphic novels and movies adapted from them. Click here to Listen and I’ll be back next week with a regular episode, until next time this has been Bubbawheat from Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights.
Filmwhys #23 Fargo and Hellboy
Welcome to yet another episode of Filmwhys aka the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast. This time around Justin Gott from Man, I Love Films and The Rambling Ramblers Podcast helps expand my Coen Brothers filmography by asking me why I haven’t seen Fargo, one of their best if not their best film to date. Featuring Minnesota accents, a wood chipper, and Marge Gunderson in a backdrop of stark white snow. And in return, I ask him why he hasn’t seen Hellboy, one of the movies that helped bring Guillermo del Toro to the big time with his imaginative take on the blue collar demon in a governmental supernatural research agency.
