Filmwhys #87 The Living Daylights and From Hell
Filmwhys #87 The Living Daylights and From Hell
I’m back with another episode of Filmwhys aka the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast. This time around I’m taking another dip into the James Bond franchise. This will be the fourth Bond film that I’ve seen, the third one that I’ve watched for a podcast, the second that I’ve watched specifically for Filmwhys, and the first Timothy Dalton Bond film. My guest is Jim O’Kane, a big member of the Movies by Minutes community and relevant to this site he specifically co-hosted the Rocketeer Minute. The movie that he watched for the first time was the first graphic novel adapted from the works of Alan Moore, the film itself is fairly mediocre but there’s still a lot of great discussion to be had in our conversation. Filmwhys #86 The Mist and Spawn
Filmwhys #86 The Mist and Spawn
Wow, it’s been quite a while hasn’t it? Even though I’ve started a new podcast, I didn’t want to fully give up on my previous Filmwhys podcast so I am finally bringing it back. Hopefully new episodes will be coming out monthly near the middle of each month. For this month’s episode I brought back guest Justin Gott from the Rambling Ramblers Podcast who asks me why I hadn’t seen the 2007 Frank Darabont horror film the Mist. And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen the 1997 superhero film that was the first non-parody superhero film with a Black lead, Spawn.

Superhero Shorts: Bullock the Bruiser
It’s been a while but I’m back with another edition of Superhero Shorts, where I take a look at a superhero or comic book short film or fan film and briefly talk with someone involved with the film. This time around I’m taking a look at an original superhero short film called Bullock the Bruiser that clocks in at about 40 minutes, which is pretty long for a typical short film though it’s just shy of my criteria for a feature length film at 45 minutes. And I was able to ask a few questions of the producer, writer, and director of the film Marcelo Mayen. And while I’m not able to share the short in full, you can watch the trailer for the short just below. And if you would like to follow the short, you can find it on Facebook, Instagram, and IMDB.

Episode 84 of the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Non Wels from the Joy Sandwich Podcast who asks me why I hadn’t seen Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, the first feature length film from the mind of Hiyao Miyazaki that basically became the start of Studio Ghibli. And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen 30 Days of Night, the vampire movie set in the Northernmost town in Alaska where vampires savage the town for an entire month.

Filmwhys 83 The Last Starfighter and 2 Guns
Welcome back to the return of a regular episode of Filmwhys, though it may be short lived. We’ll see. But for now, I bring back returning guest DJ Valentine from Simplistic Reviews who asks me why I hadn’t seen the Last Starfighter, a classic 80’s family movie that combines two of my favorite things: sci-fi and video games. And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen 2 Guns, the comic book movie that doesn’t have much going for it except for the amazing and unexpected chemistry between Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg.

And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen Weird Science, one of the classic 80’s teen comedies from John Hughes which was based on a story from an EC Comic.

Filmwhys #81 In the Mouth of Madness and Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned
The Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Rilla previously from Soiled Restroom Cinema who asks me why I hadn’t seen In the Mouth of Madness, one of John Carpenter’s lesser known films that combines the cult status of author Stephen King with the imagery from H.P. Lovecraft. And in return, I ask her why she hadn’t seen Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned, a low budget, made-for-TV anime from the 80’s based on a Marvel comic version of Dracula that crams about a dozen story arcs into an hour and a half movie.
Filmwhys #80 Children of Men and Mystery Men
The Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Sean Fallon from Audiences Everywhere and From First to Last who asks me why I hadn’t seen Children of Men, a film set in a post-apocalyptic world where children haven’t been born in almost twenty years from director Alfonso Cuaron. And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen Mystery Men, a superhero parody film featuring a great cast including Ben Stiller, William H. Macy, and Geoffrey Rush.

The Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast horror special where my guest is Chris Tanksi from The (title pending) Movie Podcast with Tank and Fogs who asks me why I hadn’t seen Trick R Treat, a cult film that has played a part in revitalizing the anthology film despite having been shelved for a few years. And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight, the first theatrical movie from the popular HBO series.
