I’m back with another episode of Filmwhys aka the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast. This time around I’m taking another dip into the James Bond franchise. This will be the fourth Bond film that I’ve seen, the third one that I’ve watched for a podcast, the second that I’ve watched specifically for Filmwhys, and the first Timothy Dalton Bond film. My guest is Jim O’Kane, a big member of the Movies by Minutes community and relevant to this site he specifically co-hosted the Rocketeer Minute. The movie that he watched for the first time was the first graphic novel adapted from the works of Alan Moore, the film itself is fairly mediocre but there’s still a lot of great discussion to be had in our conversation. Wow, it’s been quite a while hasn’t it? Even though I’ve started a new podcast, I didn’t want to fully give up on my previous Filmwhys podcast so I am finally bringing it back. Hopefully new episodes will be coming out monthly near the middle of each month. Superhero Shorts: Bullock the Bruiser
It’s been a while but I’m back with another edition of Superhero Shorts, where I take a look at a superhero or comic book short film or fan film and briefly talk with someone involved with the film. This time around I’m taking a look at an original superhero short film called Bullock the Bruiser that clocks in at about 40 minutes, which is pretty long for a typical short film though it’s just shy of my criteria for a feature length film at 45 minutes. And I was able to ask a few questions of the producer, writer, and director of the film Marcelo Mayen. Episode 84 of the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Non Wels from the Joy Sandwich Podcast who asks me why I hadn’t seen Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, the first feature length film from the mind of Hiyao Miyazaki that basically became the start of Studio Ghibli. But for now, I bring back returning guest DJ Valentine from Simplistic Reviews who asks me why I hadn’t seen the Last Starfighter, a classic 80’s family movie that combines two of my favorite things: sci-fi and video games. The Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Rilla previously from Soiled Restroom Cinema who asks me why I hadn’t seen In the Mouth of Madness, one of John Carpenter’s lesser known films that combines the cult status of author Stephen King with the imagery from H.P. Lovecraft. And in return, I ask her why she hadn’t seen Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned, a low budget, made-for-TV anime from the 80’s based on a Marvel comic version of Dracula that crams about a dozen story arcs into an hour and a half movie.
