Filmwhys #5 Run Lola Run and The Punisher
There’s never enough time to watch all the movies I want to, but now that Filmwhys is weekly, I’m working on it that much quicker. In this episode of Filmwhys, the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast, I’m joined by Dylan Fields of Man I Love Films who asks me why I haven’t seen Run Lola Run, the unique 1998 German film with a unique premise, pseudo-time travel, animation, and running. And I ask him why he hadn’t seen the 2004 Punisher film starring Thomas Jane.
Click here to listen, or you can also find me on iTunes and Stitcher. As always, I appreciate it if you give a review, like, thumbs up, subscribe and all that stuff and leave me a comment, let me know what you like, even what you didn’t. And join in the episode, share your own Film Whys. I have never seen the 2004 Oscar Winning boxing movie Million Dollar Baby, as well as another one that I’ll be talking about this Sunday. What’s your boxing movie Filmwhys, or fighting, or wrestling, or whatever? A film you haven’t seen, but really want to or feel like you should. I’ll share the answers on that episode. I’ll be back again next week with episode #6. Until next time, this has been Bubbawheat for Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights.

This is the first time I’ve had the time to sit down and listen to one of these; I think it’s also the first time I’ve seen both films (if only barely). Pretty good podcast, Bubbawheat. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for listening, I appreciate it, I thought it was interesting that you also just recently watched Run Lola Run. Would love to have you on sometime in the future as well.
I’ll let you know if I ever get a microphone set up with the computer. 😛
Nice episode Bubbawheat. I never thought of Run Lola Run as a science fiction story before but that is a good anology. Now I’m curious if you have seen Battle Royale(which also has sci fi elements added in to a somewhat contemporary setting.)
I think of the time loop as a pretty common sci-fi trope, and even though Run Lola Run doesn’t really have any other sci-fi elements to it, just having that time loop gives it a little sci-fi angle in my opinion. Thanks for listening!
Oh, and I haven’t seen either Battle Royale or the Hunger Games, though I do want to see both.
