Superhero Podcast Review: Zeroes Talking Heroes Podcast
I’ve actually quite been enjoying my return to exploring new superhero themed podcasts. It’s been a little difficult to choose how to search and which podcast to select just based on their name and sometimes their description, but I think I’ve been doing good so far. For each of these reviews, I give an overall stats breakdown, give a description of the podcast across a few different criteria, and give it an ultimate final rating of: Subscribe, Unsubscribe, or Selected Episodes. And if you know of or host a superhero podcast that I haven’t covered yet, feel free to let me know in the comments or by sending me an email at Bubbawheat@msn.com.

Production format: A single conversation between cohosts discussing what they’ve been watching lately before getting down to the movie at hand where they discuss it in detail and give it a rating from 1 to 6 Infinity Stones and for extra special movies they can throw in the gauntlet as the final cherry on top.
The Format
The hosts are Joe, Cory, Sequel, Matt, and Frank, and each episode tends to include anywhere between 3 and all 5 of the hosts, with Joe and Cory being the most consistent in the episodes that I listened to. They start each episode by going through a quick discussion of what they had been watching recently before going into the specific movie of the episode. Like many of the podcasts I have reviewed recently and enjoy, they have a good rapport with each other and feel like good friends having a casual discussion about the movies. The discussion generally covers more surface level criticism on plot and characters without going too in depth but it’s usually fun with occasional tangents.
Comics vs Movies
Most, if not all of the hosts seem to be superhero fans similar to myself where they are interested in the TV and movie version of superheroes and have little knowledge of the comics outside of occasional research. But one of the things that really attracted me to this podcast as I was looking through their back catalog is the variety of movies chosen for their episodes. While they don’t go to the extreme obscure movies that I have gotten to, it’s always nice to see a wider variety of movies outside of the typical MCU and mainstream DC movies like American Splendor, Frost Fight, and even broader definition of heroes like Pacific Rim and Willow.
The Verdict
This was an enjoyable podcast, and one of the best things which will definitely keep me interested moving forward is the wider selection of movie choices. The hosts are fun, and even when discussing a bad or mediocre movie, they tend to keep things positive and light. Another minor note, I like how they tend to add the caveat that movies aren’t “free” on services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc but they are “included with the paid subscription at no extra cost”. My only complaint, which is minor, is that it would be nice if they went a little bit more in depth into the movies, but a shorter episode with less depth works just as well.
