FTMN Poll: What series should be rebooted?
The superhero/comic book/sci-fi landscape right now is filled with reboots, from Spider-Man, to Judge Dredd, to Robocop, to Total Recall, to Superman, to Green Arrow, and even Beauty and the Beast. Some may be good, some may be crap. And on top of that, some of the original’s are hard to live up to. I have no doubt that the new Dredd will be better than the original Judge Dredd, but Robocop is going to be a tougher sell for me. So far, I’ve liked everything I’ve seen from the reboots I’ve listed, although Beauty and the Beast feels like the weakest one for my tastes, they’re just moving too far away from the original Linda Hamilton/ Ron Perlman version and making it for the pretty faces of the CW audience.
But what I’m asking today is what series would you actually want to see a reboot of? I’ve listed several choices from the misguided take on Spawn, to ones that haven’t seen action outside of TV like Wonder Woman. Is there a comic actor today who could bring new life to the Mask or the Tick? The Ninja Turtles may have been squashed for now, but do they deserve a true to their origins style reboot? What about the Punisher, they’ve tried a few times and haven’t quite gotten him right yet? There’s also reboots of Fantastic Four, The Crow, and Daredevil in the works, though they’re all still pretty early in their productions and may still fall through, do any of them deserve a chance? Is there any others that I’ve failed to mention? Let your voice be heard, tell me what you think.

Daredevil has a great story if captured right. I was really upset David Slade announced his departure from the proposed reboot.
I’d also say that Green Lantern already needs one, just so we can forget the one that came out last year. I don’t care if it’s too soon or what not, but it either needs an immediate reboot or a really good sequel.
Fantastic Four I don’t ever see myself enjoying, just because it’ll always be focused on the family aspect and will just be too cartoon-y.
TMNT already has a reboot on the way, Michael Bay produced “Ninja Turtles”
The Punisher apparently had a sexy tease at Comic-Con, with Thomas Jane in the role again. From what I read it was awesome and I want to see it for myself.
The Crow is untouchable. Not that the Alexander Proyas movie was epic (it was really good), but the fact Brandon Lee gave his life during the film is kind of hard to get over.
I’m throwing a name in the ring real quick-
Blade & Abe- A buddy slasher/comedy about Blade fighting vampires with the US’s 16th president. (c.) Nick Powell, 2012
I think Green Lantern can make a recovery as long as they do the sequel right using Sinestro as the main villain. The TMNT reboot has been put on hold indefinitely and may end up being cancelled altogether. From what I’ve heard, the Crow is in the works, and it’s got James O’Barr’s direct input, so it’s got that going for it. Unless of course it’s fallen through since least I heard about it, which has been a while.
I haven’t seen Abe Lincoln yet, but that would be an interesting mashup.
I’m not sure if it counts as a reboot, but have you seen the new Punisher short film that went up on YouTube yesterday? It’s called Dirty Laundry and Thomas Jane is back as the big guy as well as producing it. If you can score an interview for Superhero Shorts, that would be one hell of a scoop!
That would be awesome, have wanted to see it, but haven’t had kid-free computer time lately. Always thought Jane did great in his Punisher movie.
