Filmwhys #84 Nausicaa and 30 Days of Night

Episode 84 of the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Non Wels from the Joy Sandwich Podcast who asks me why I hadn’t seen Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, the first feature length film from the mind of Hiyao Miyazaki that basically became the start of Studio Ghibli. And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen 30 Days of Night, the vampire movie set in the Northernmost town in Alaska where vampires savage the town for an entire month.

Click Here to Listen, or as always you can listen and subscribe to the show through iTunes, Stitcher, GooglePlay Music, or PodOmatic and as always I appreciate it if you give the show a like, thumbs up, and a review however you listen. I also have a Filmwhys page in the main menu of this site where you can read the origins, find information on how to be a guest on the show, and also the show archives where the shows go to (eventually) after they are rotated off of the regular PodOmatic feed. Until next time, this has been Bubbawheat for Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights.

I really should give 30 Days of Night another chance. I remember being very disappointed in it when I watched it a few years ago.

    • I mostly enjoy it. We both came to the agreement that it was mediocre writing with some cool shots and interesting concepts.

Yeah, that was sort of my problem with it, as I recall. There were issues with the way some of those concepts were carried out. It’s a great premise, and I expected a lot more from it.
