Superhero Shorts: Marvel Zombies: The Movie
Welcome back to another edition of Superhero Shorts, where each time I showcase a superhero themed short film and have a brief talk with the creator. This week I’m talking with Jim Ojala and his teaser trailer based on the popular run of the Marvel Zombies storyline where most of the Marvel superheroes had been turned into zombies and ended up attacking and killing those who they were trying to protect. I’ve kind of been wanting to do something horror themed, and as there isn’t always a lot of horror/superhero crossover, I thought this was a great choice. As usual, you can watch it below, or you can view it on Jim Ojala’s YouTube channel, and you can also visit his official website to see some of his other work and what he is currently working on.

Superhero Shorts: Wonder Woman
Welcome to another edition of Superhero Shorts, where I feature a superhero themed short film and ask a few questions of its creator. It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long ago since I featured Jesse V. Johnson’s version of Wonder Woman, but this time around Rainfall films with co-owner and director Sam Balcomb shows us his action packed take on Wonder Woman. As usual, you can watch the short below, or you can visit Rainfall film’s official site where it is currently featured on their main page, or you can visit their YouTube channel.

Superhero Shorts: Neighborhood Watchmen
Welcome to another edition of Superhero Shorts, where I take a look at a superhero themed short film or webseries and ask a few questions of one of its creators. This time around I’ve got a webseries for a D-list superhero team called the Neighborhood Watchmen, it’s an office comedy that shows what happens between the duties of a superhero team. And I was able to talk with Dash Kwiatkowski, director, producer, and Killzone for the series. You can watch the first episode below, or you can visit their YouTube channel to watch every episode they have up so far.

Superhero Shorts: City of Titans
Ok, it’s not entirely a traditional Superhero Shorts, there is a YouTube clip involved, but this is really about an upcoming independent game that was inspired by one of my favorite games of all time, City of Heroes. If you haven’t played City of Heroes, you missed out because it ran for many years before being shut down about a year ago now. After the shutdown announcement, there was an almost immediate push by a group of players to create a new game inspired by the old one we loved so much. Eventually that group of players split into two groups, and only a few days ago one of them, Missing Worlds Media, have gotten to the point where they were able to launch a Kickstarter campaign to secure funds to finish the game, and they were also able to take a little time out of their busy schedule to answer a few of my questions about the project. You can visit and contribute to the Kickstarter campaign right here which is running until November 4th, 2013, and you can also view the kickstarter video below.

Filmwhys #15 Inception and Special
It’s time once again to ask the question why I haven’t seen some movie or another. This episode features someone I’ve been collaborating with for a while now, Terrence Faulkner over at The Focused Filmographer where each week we comment on the new movie posters. Today he asks me why I haven’t seen Inception if I’m such a fan of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, his epic and multilayered vision of a heist within a dreamscape. And in return, I ask him why he hasn’t seen Special, a low budget film about a parking enforcement officer named Les who joins a drug study only to have them give him the delusion of having super powers.

Filmwhys #14 The Untouchables and Chronicle
Apologies for the late post for this episode of Filmwhys. I had an issue with my usual recording program not wanting to record for whatever reason, so I had to find a quick replacement, and that replacement ended up being a trial version that only recorded in 5 minute chunks and also recorded an echo off of my microphone, so the clean-up editing took a lot more time than usual, but I hope I managed to remove all the annoyances and cover up the breaks as neatly as possible. Anyway for the actual episode, I talked with Ryan McNeely from 5 Word Movie Reviews who asks me why I haven’t seen the Untouchables, a great film from Brian DePalma about Elliot Ness, Al Capone, and the Chicago way. And in return, I ask him why he hasn’t seen Chronicle, a unique take on both found footage and the superhero film from just last year.

Superhero Shorts: Lazy Teenage Superheroes
Welcome to another edition of Superhero Shorts, where I feature a superhero themed short film and ask a few questions with the creator. Today I’m talking with Michael Ashton who made a short film about a group of slacker teenagers who happen to have super powers. He did it for practically no money with his friends and did most of the impressive special effects work himself. As usual, you can watch it below, or you can watch it at the official website.

Filmwhys #13 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and All Superheroes Must Die
It’s that time again folks, another Filmwhys episode has been released to the general public. This week I have guest Jason Soto of the site Your Face who asks me the question why haven’t I seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the original one from 1974, a low budget horror movie that first introduced us to Leatherface. And in return I ask him why he hasn’t seen All Superheroes Must Die, which is pretty close to a superhero horror movie. I was also able to ask a few brief questions with the creator of All Superheroes Must Die, Jason Trost at the end of the episode.

Filmwhys #12 Rope and Planet Hulk
It’s time once again for another episode of Filmwhys, or the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film podcast where I have a returning guest for the first time, webnovelist Stefan Gagne from Pixelscapes who asks me why I haven’t seen one of Hitchcock’s more experimental films, Rope which is only the third Hitchcock movie that I’ve ever seen. And I ask him why he hasn’t seen one of Marvel’s animated offerings, Planet Hulk.

Superhero Shorts: #TruthInJournalism
Welcome to another edition of Superhero Shorts where I take a look at a superhero themed mini-movie and ask a few questions with the creator. Last year I was lucky enough to talk with Thomas Jane about the short Dirty Laundry and this year the same producer, Adi Shankar came out with another amazing short film based around a different Marvel character called #TruthInJournalism and was gracious enough to spend some time talking with me about it. As usual, you can watch the film below or you can check it out at Adi’s YouTube channel.
