Update and a couple upcoming Superhero Shorts
I’m sure you’ve noticed the lack of regular posts lately. It’s a combination of a lot of things. It started due to being down by the lack of growth with the site lately, but it turned out that it was really more about writing burnout. It has actually been much nicer for me to be able to spend less time working on this site. On top of that, there’s a lot of real life stress. I’m moving at the end of this month, and it’s been fairly hectic trying to get things prepared, packing, and some things are still a little uncertain, so I imagine the schedule will remain much more sparse through the entire month of September, and possibly on into October a little bit. I’ve also been rather slow in posting the Facebook minimalist posters, and I’ll probably remain somewhat slow on those too.
On another note, I do have a few upcoming Superhero Shorts that I’m so excited about that I can’t wait until they’re fully done to share with you all. Of course, I should mention that none of these are 100% definite, but I’ve had some form of contact with all of them and am excited to get the chance to ask them some questions when the final projects come out.
The first one is one that actually surprised me due to the fact that it’s the first fan filmmaker that contacted me first. And while it’s not exactly superhero-based, I’ll be happy to call it an “Almost Super”hero short. It’s a musical about the card game Magic: The Gathering… with puppets. You heard me right, and from the trailer that you can see below, it looks pretty funny. It should be released within the next couple months, and you can get more details at Zombie Cat Productions.
The second one is an upcoming webseries that I’ve been keeping an eye on for a while, and Fogs from Fogs’ Movie Reviews actually met one of the creators at San Diego Comic Con on my behalf. It’s based around Batwoman, and as far as I’m concerned there needs to be more strong female superheroes, and this one looks pretty impressive. You can check their site out at Batgirl: Spoiled and you can watch the trailer right below.
The last one is actually completed, but has yet to make its way online yet. It’s a short called “One on One: A Superman Story” and I’m really curious to get the chance to see it. There isn’t any trailers or websites that I know of, but you can check them out at their Facebook page.
So there you have it, that’s what’s been going on and what you can hopefully look forward to in some upcoming Superhero Shorts. Until next time, this has been Bubbawheat for Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights.
